Just in time for Valentine's Day, Joanna from A Cup Of Jo posted this amazing tutorial. Is this not perfect date hair? So adorable.

would you.... at home ombre?

It looks like L'Oreal is the first company trying to revamp the ombre trend. For those of you living under a rock, ombre is a technique used to give your hair a dark-to-light effect. Basically, it's a trendy (and lazy...yeah, I said it) excuse for allowing visible roots to be a thing.

I had the impression that ombre was going to be slowly on it's way out the door but L'Oreal came in to shake things up a bit. In February of this year (next month, obviously), they are releasing an at-home dye kit. Personally, I'm scared for the general population. Most people resort to at-home dyes because it's cheap and convenient, but at-home ombre spells out disaster to me. Maybe it's super easy to use and the results turn out fantastic. If so, bravo L'Oreal!

So my question is.... would you use an at-home ombre hair color kit? Tell me below in the comments.

Day 4: Perfect Hairdo

source: imgfave.com

When it comes to hair- I usually go for my usual curls or loose waves. I'm so boring! I feel as if the only time I do something fun or different with my hair is for special occasions (or if my mom is willing to help me out). To get into the mood for Valentine's Day, I feel like there is nothing more perfect than some romantic up-dos. Side ponys, revamped braids, loose buns, etc. Here are some example of adorable hairstyles:

Ombre Hair Trend

Who has been loving the two-tone hair trend lately? I know I have! It's a fun take on highlights to me. I would never go completely blonde but sometimes it's nice to have those face-framing pieces of hair to have a nice glow. So cute in the summer when you have bronzed skin and refreshing in the winter when you need something to pick you up out of your hair blues. There are a lot of different interpretations of this trend. I like the blonde to be somewhat subtle to help from looking trashy. What about you? Would you rock this trend?

Curly Complications

curls and cat-eyes are my go-to.

My hair is so, so bipolar. It's actually curly... extremely curly BUT I used to hate my curls. From about grade 4 - 8, I straightened my hair almost every day. I know, 4th grade seems a little young to begin straightening your hair, but my mom is a cosmetologist so I was exposed to beauty and fashion at a very early age. Now, you can imagine the damage... it was not pretty. One day in 9th grade I decided to throw some mousse in my hair and call it a day. I went to school that day and people barely even recognized me. I hadn't worn my hair in it's natural state for so long that people didn't even know I had curly hair. From then on, I've embraced my curls. All through high school and college, I would straighten my hair every once and awhile just for a little change but I can proudly say that I have not even taken my straightener out of my drawer in almost two years!

The funny thing is, though, that I've straightened my hair so much, for so long that my hair started to think that it was actually straight. Now, not only can I blow dry it "straight" but I can also just throw in some conditioner and let it air-dry wavy/straight. This used to frustrate me SO much because I lost a lot of curl but now I have learned to love it. I had to remind myself that most people would kill for curly hair and the others would kill for straight hair but for me, I kind of have the best of both worlds!

I recently went for a soft two-tone look that has been pretty popular this year. You can see this look on people like Jessica Biel and Rachel Bilson. Here is a little photo gallery of different celebrities with this look: Two-Tone Trend.
