Hiatus

Sorry I haven't been able to post lately. I have so many things to share but I was out of town in Kansas visiting my greatest friend of all time. More to come later.

Dad's Day!

Although today is Father's Day it's a sad day for me. This is the first year of my 22 years of life that I haven't been able to spend this day with my amazing dad. I go to school in southern Minnesota while my family lives up in the twin cities. It's not a far drive but with gas prices so high I basically have to take out a loan just to fill up my tank! Any way, my bf Alvi is up in the cities and was able to hang with my family all day long. They had a brunch earlier today and then they're all going golfing. Rough life, huh? So Happy Father's Day to the GREATEST man on this planet. I LITERALLY (gross) wouldn't be here with out him. Below is a picture of us after I walked in the Susan G. Komen 3Day Breast Cancer Walk for my mom! It's not the beeest picture considering I just got done walking 60 miles in the august humidity but I love it regardless :)

furry best friends

I have a neighbor who continuously leaves their yippy little Yorkie outside for hours at a time. Now don't get me wrong, dogs need to stretch their little legs and enjoy the sunshine just as much as us humans do but MY LORD, that thing sits and barks outside all. day. long. Keep in mind, I live in Minnesota and although it's the middle of June it's either extremely hot and humid or storming - both are conditions I would not leave my little guy outside in for an extended period. AND WINTER? That's a whole different story. I'm about .9 seconds away from printing this off and taping it right onto their dog (who is currently the background music of this post).

Reading is Sexy

I have a small obsession with books. Not just simply reading them but even looking at them! Have you seen how creative some people can be? I mean, take a look at this little red wagon that stole my heart:

Or this room! I wanna die just looking at it! But any ways, back to books. I have a whole list (and book shelf) of books that I've been meaning to get around to. The main reason I haven't read most of them is because I went through a 2-3 year phase where I wanted to read nothing but the Harry Potter series in its entirety over and over ... and over and over again. I grew up with the series so it means a great deal to me. So, my book bucket list has grown quite a bit over the past few years.

My current book is Lord of the Rings! I'm pretty excited about it. I've seen the "trilogy" (According to the prologue its not a trilogy but actually one book released in three parts. Sorry, nerd tangent) before but never got around to the 1, 137 pages.

One day I'll blog my book bucket list :)
