I made this on my iPad with my new Stylus pen...obsessed. Can't stop doodling.

12/12/12
It's 12/12/12 and I have a BIG interview today. So nervous, but hoping that this special day will bring me some luck. How are you guys spending this day? Did you know it's the last repetitive day until January 1st, 2101? Better take advantage!

Baby, it's cold
I should be used to this cold weather by now living in Minnesota but, nope. You can find me fireside with Boyd and a good book all winter long.

More Announcements
Guys, I have some fantastic news.
For the last couple of years I've been complaining to just about everyone I know about how I cannot afford a new camera AND computer-two very vital (very expensive) things to me. After some (not so) subtle hints, I think may parents may have gotten me a camera for Christmas. This is a only a guess but if I know my parents well enough than its already wrapped and hidden under their bed as we speak. (Mom, if you're reading this and it actually is under your bed I promise I didn't snoop!) So, if this is true that is one step closer to true happiness for me.
Now, I just have one piece of the puzzle left: a computer. My cousin Vinnie (yes, really. No I've never seen the movie) currently owns a 17" MacBook Pro that is only a year or two old. He's been thinking of upgrading to an iMac and is willing to sell me his laptop at a great price! BOOM- Mission complete!
Anyway, the reason this is fantastic news is because I will finally be able to have all the necessary equipment needed to finally give this blog some much needed TLC. If my Christmas wishes come true, expect a whole makeover on the blog including some great new features I've been working on.
Things are looking up for Stella + Charlie.
(Ps- I wrote this post from my phone! Oh, technology....)

Announcement
I'm extremely excited to announce that I currently have something BIG in the works. I have a very talented cousin named Vinnie (who also happens to be one of my bestest friends) and we decided to combine our skills and love for design to create a new freelance business. Everything is still being planned out so I can't disclose too much information at this time. Just know that it's going to be awesome and you guys will be the first to know about it.
Eeeeeeeek. Here's to new adventures!

Moving Forward
I'm sure all of you have heard your fair share of opinions when it comes to yesterdays election. Because of this, I will not sit here and ramble on about who or what I think is right for our country. I'm just a little 23 year old girl who is happy to even have an opinion. The only thing that I feel passionate about is being an American and being free.
God Bless, America.
(Oh.... but I will add that I am SO excited to have Michelle Obama and those fantastic arms of hers around for 4 more years. )

Practice Makes Perfect
I've been trying to teach myself the art of photography for a little while now. I haven't been able to get my hands on any decent equipment but my wonderfully generous cousin, Vinnie let me borrow his Canon EOS 60D. What a beat! Anyway, here's a sneak peak of Ms. Britni.

memories of august
Ms. Calli and I went out to take a some photos back in August. Here some favorites of mine. I love getting out there and behind the camera but I really need to invest in a better camera and more than just the free trial of Photoshop. The life of a broke college grad is not a fabulous one.
A girl can dream, though......

Just thought I'd share some of my Instagrams to show you how I've been spending the beautiful fall weather this year. The grandparents of one of my greatest friends, Tom, own a farm here in Woodbury. They needed help picking pumpkins and other produce that they sell at local farmer's markets. So, obviously Alvi & I jumped at the opportunity. A big group of us gathered at the farm and picked pumpkins, gourds, raspberries, peppers, tomatoes, and apples. It was great and we were able to go home with a trunk full of goodies.
Boyd and I have also been enjoying our walks, lately. Wish the trees stayed like this forever.

Babel
Mumford released their new album Babel just in time for fall. Their music is perfect for the chilly weather and beautiful scenery. Yesterday I was on a walk with Boyd at one of our favorite parks in Woodbury. I was listening to my music on shuffle and Mumford's cover of Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer came on while I watched the sunset. Couldn't have been more perfect. Actually, no I take that back. It would have been perfect if Alv was there with us :)

Monthly Read: The Godfather
I have gone all of my 23 years of life without seeing The Godfather. Trust me, I'm not proud of it. As an Italian, I feel as if that's some sort of sin. Either way, I was browsing through an amazing bookstore in Kansas and came across an old vintage Godfather from 1969 for only $2.00. I immediately snatched that up and decided it was a sign that I should finally get know Don and the rest of the Family. I haven't had much of a chance to read it since buying it last week, but I'm not even a chapter in and already enthralled.

** The Dusty Bookshelf, where I bought the book. I'll post some pictures I snapped of it later.
(Also, slightly embarrassing but I noticed once it was too late, that there is a spelling error in that photo...)

Lolla Spotlight: Of Monsters and Men
My excitement for Lollapalooza is out of this world. I've been aching to go to the 3-day music festival in Chicago for the past couple of years. It's never been able to work out for what ever reason but THIS YEAR I will finally be going! Have you ever been to a music festival? They are some of my most favorite memories. Music seems to be so much more entertaining outside in a dirty field or park while surrounded by sweaty, wasted people. I realize that might not make it seem too enjoyable, but trust me when I say it's fantastic.
Until the festival in August, I'll be sharing with you some of the bands that will be at Lolla this year. First off, Of Monsters and Men.

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, everyone! I'm so excited that it's Easter because it's truthfully, one of my favorite holidays. Weird, right? Only because we make some of my favorite italian recipes ever. My grandpa always makes
me my favorite pasta, Chicadil, which is like a handmade Gnoochi. (check out this tasty sweet potato version) My great-grandma used to make it for us kids and it is by far the best pasta I've ever tasted in my life - no exaggeration. It's a lot of hard work to make so my grandpa usually only makes it on Easter (but always makes an extra batch to throw in the freezer for me).We also make what we call Easter Pizza. I'm telling you, there is no way to describe it to do it justice. You just simply have to try it. It's the most delicious thing ever and it's, of course, only made on Easter so naturally everyone fights for it. I'll try and take a picture and maybe even post some recipes for it later this week.
How will you be celebrating your Easter this year?

Dreaming of Diana Cameras
Lately, I've been having a crazy obsession with toy cameras. The outcome is so fun and dreamy which is perfect for the upcoming summer season! I've been going back and forth with myself on whether or not I should buy one and I finally settled on an answer. A toy camera is a MUST this year. I'm thinking a Diana camera is the perfect one to start my (hopefully) budding toy camera collection. They're a piece of art themselves, and there are so many mini ones that would be perfect for throwing in my purse.
